KC Chiefs news on this Christmas morning are about rookie Marcus Peters and about Kansas City’s upcoming game against the Cleveland Browns.
The Kansas City Chiefs have reeled off eight straight wins. A large part of the winning streak is thanks to the Chiefs defense, especially rookie Marcus Peters.
Peters has seven interceptions on the year, two of those going all the way back for touchdowns. He’s proven to be a huge part of the Chiefs success this year, and it’s good to see a first round pick finally panning out at the start.
Peters, a first round pick out of Washington, was elected to his very first Pro Bowl this week. He joins fellow defensive studs Eric Berry, Tamba Hali, Justin Houston, Derrick Johnson, and Dontari Poe, and offensive guys Travis Kelce and Alex Smith. Johnson, Poe, Smith, and Dustin Colquitt were all voted in as alternates, and deservingly so.

In other news, the KC Chiefs face the Cleveland Browns this Sunday afternoon at Arrowhead.
The Browns are only 3-11 on the year, but they have nothing to play for. That’s the scary part.
We saw last week with the Baltimore Ravens how a team with nothing to play for can pull out all the stops. The Ravens tried to do just that, by attempting a fake punt on a 4th and 19 deep in their own territory.
Fortunately, that particular play did not pan out for Baltimore, but the Chiefs should brace themselves for any type of trickery in this match, as the Browns are playing just for pride at this point.
Take a look at what FanSided.com is saying about Marcus Peters and this weekend’s game against the Browns.

Marcus Peters pick has been a resounding success [Nicholas Parker, Arrowhead Addict]
"While a secondary with Peters and Smith together is ideal, Peters and the injured Phillip Gaines will make a nice pairing next year as well. The potential to see all three on the field next year is exciting, to say the least."

Peters’ two INTs get him AFC player of the week honors [Joel Thorman, Arrowhead Pride]
"Peters has had a terrific rookie season. He has been tested as much as anyone but his aggressiveness has benefited the Chiefs. His seven interceptions lead the team and are one more than the Chiefs had all of last season. There is a major difference between last year’s defense and this year’s and that is Marcus Peters."
Marcus Peters certainly has had an incredible rookie year, and definitely deserved the AFC Player of the Week this past week, and is deserving of his Pro Bowl nomination as well.

With the two first rounders before him looking iffy, Peters has given fans hope when it comes to drafting in the first round. Maybe John Dorsey does know what he’s doing after all.
