Those guys are Chris Young and Joakim Soria, both of whom could do double duty. Soria more than likely will go to the bullpen W.hie I don’t see Young as a year-round starter, I’m sure that’s why the Royals re-signed him was due to his ability to jump between the rotation and bullpen. .
Point being is that the Royals need another arm for the rotation. Ventura and Volquez are locks to start, but none of the other names on the roster are at the moment. If the Royals could add a guy like Scott Kazmir or even one of the lower ranked guys on my list like Colby Lewis or Doug Fister, then this rotation could be much better in 2016.
We saw how the rotation struggled this past season, and how the bullpen had to pick them up and carry them throughout a good portion of the season. Hopefully Dayton Moore will get a decent arm for the rotation and the bullpen can have a few extra days rest in 2016.
