Royals Rumors: Jackie Bradley Jr Possible Trade Target
Royals rumors have emerged that the KC Royals seem to be interested in Red Sox outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr., who is reportedly on the trade market.
WEEI.com’s Bob Bradford has reported that the Boston Red Sox are currently looking into trading outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr. Reportedly the top teams in conversation to acquire Bradley Jr. are the Chicago Cubs and the World Series champion Kansas City Royals.
Trade rumors have been surrounding the Red Sox ever since new president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski recently took over.
Rumors have been swirling around a lot of players in the organization from minor league players to the major league players, and Bradley Jr. is just the most recent.

For Boston, he played center field, but is skilled and athletic enough to play anywhere in the outfield and could help any team in the field. He could especially help the Royals with their HUGE outfield that has a lot of ground for outfielders to cover.
The Royals have been rumored to be interested in him in large part because Alex Gordon is still an unrestricted free agent, and Alex Rios‘ option wasn’t picked up for next season.
Both were starters in the corner outfield spots for the Royals last season.
After hitting a measly .196 in his first 160 or so major league games, Jackie Bradley Jr. rebounded majorly in 2015 and hit .249/.335/.498 and scored 43 runs, hit ten home runs and drove in 43 runs in 74 games.

To add to his recent success at the plate, he is regarded as one of the best defensive outfielders in baseball at the age of 25 (courtesy of ProBaseballReference.com).
We all know how much the Royals love their defense, especially in the outfield.
The downside of this acquisition for Royals fans could be that adding Bradley Jr. could mean that Dayton Moore and the rest of the front office are coming to terms that left fielder Alex Gordon won’t be back in Royal blue next season.
Bradley would be a much cheaper option with his inexperience and question marks with his up and down hitting thus far in his career, which could give the Royals the push they need to snatch him up.
The Red Sox have also been rumored to be in the running to sign Alex Gordon. Popular belief is that if they do end up trading Bradley Jr., they will go hard after Gordon to replace him.
Like they always have, they Red Sox are not shy when it comes to spending money, and they can definitely outbid the Royals for Gordon if it comes to that.
