KU Basketball: Where to Watch Pittsburg State Exhibition
By Joel Wagler
The KU basketball team will face the Pittsburg State Gorillas in the first of two exhibition games on Wednesday night at Allen Fieldhouse.
Thank goodness! It is finally basketball season for the Kansas Jayhawks. Fans are suffering through a tough football season so basketball will be a welcome distraction, even more so than usual.
The Jayhawks will open the season ranked fourth in the nation in the preseason AP poll, according to CBSSports.com.
Kansas is still awaiting word from the NCAA on the eligibility of freshman Cheick Diallo, according to the Kansas City Star.
Rustin Dodd of the Star, the Jayhawks are still confident he will be able to play this season.
"For the moment, Self said Kansas was practicing as if Diallo, a 6-foot-9 freshman power forward, will play this season."
The exhibition game with the Gorillas will be televised on the Jayhawks Network, which means if you are not a Time Warner or Comcast customer, or WOW! in Lawrence, you will have to go to your favorite watering hole to watch the game.
To make matters worse, the game which will live streamed on ESPN3, is blacked out for most of Kansas and Western Missouri. If you are a local fan, you are just out of luck if you would like to watch it in the comfort of your home if you don’t subscribe to one of the aforementioned services.

Head coach Bill Self may be looking to force a more up-tempo pace this season, as he seems to be leaning to starting both of his point guards, Frank Mason III and Devonte’ Graham, according to Gary Bedore of KUSports.com.

The Jayhawks are on a quest to win their twelfth straight Big 12 Conference regular season championship.
They feature an experienced lineup, with senior big men Perry Ellis, Jamari Traylor, and Hunter Mickelson, and junior guards Mason, and Wayne Selden Jr.
Throw in guards Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk and Brannen Greene, plus Landen Lucas, not to mention freshmen Carlton Bragg and Lagerald Vick, Self has a talented and deep roster, even without Diallo.
If this KU basketball team can create possessions with strong rebounding and tough defense, and they do push a faster pace than in recent seasons, this could be another successful championship season.
They have the experience and the talent to challenge for a national title. It should be another exciting season.
