KC Chiefs Dominate Detroit Lions In London
The KC Chiefs are 3-5 on the season now after a 45-10 victory in London against the Detroit Lions.
Coming into this game, disappointments arose for both the Kansas City Chiefs and the Detroit Lions. The Chiefs went 9-7 last season and barely missed the playoffs after an injury riddled season. The Lions made the playoffs, but lost in the first round to the Dallas Cowboys.
This season, both teams had sorely disappointed. The Chiefs started 1-0, but went on to lose five straight games in disappointing fashion. The Lions started 0-5, but are now 1-7 after this loss to Kansas City.
Yes, the game was in London, but does that really matter now? The KC Chiefs dominated this one against the Lions in every aspect, and it showed by the final score. In fact, the game got so out of hand that Chase Daniel got to play the final five minutes.
Speaking of Daniel, Alex Smith had a great day in London. The Chiefs’ starting quarterback has taken some heat this season, but he played well, gaining 78 yards with his legs.

The defense also did their part, only allowing the Lions to score 10 points. After the Lions scored on their opening drive, the Chiefs went on to score 38 unanswered points and Detroit didn’t score again until the fourth quarter.
This was easily the Kansas City Chiefs’ best game all season long, and it begs the question… Where was this team all season? Detroit is a bad team, there’s no debating that, but the Chiefs looked unstoppable in this one.
Smith was firing on all cylinders, four different rushing touchdowns were scored (by four different players), and the defense was dominant. It was a great game for the Chiefs, and now they have a bye week before heading to play the Broncos in Denver.
The Chiefs will have new confidence heading to Denver, and considering what happened the last time these two teams met, it could be Kansas City’s time to capitalize and possibly turn the season along. The Chiefs won’t win the AFC West, but a playoff berth is not completely out of the question now.
