KC Chiefs Inactives: Jeremy Maclin Not Playing VS Steelers
The KC Chiefs sit at 1-5 and host the Pittsburgh Steelers at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday. Here is a list of the KC Chiefs inactives against Pittsburgh.
The biggest name this week to not play is wide receiver Jeremy Maclin. It appeared for most of the week that Maclin would be okay to play, but he’s been ruled out with a concussion he sustained last week in Minnesota.
It will be difficult for the Kansas City Chiefs offense to get much done without Maclin, as they weren’t getting much done WITH him. Albert Wilson and Chris Conley will be the two main wide receivers for Alex Smith to sling it to on Sunday.
Here’s the list of all of the inactives for Sunday’s home game:
- Aaron Murray
- Mike DeVito
- Ramik Wilson
- Marcus Cooper
- Jeremy Maclin
- Jah Reid
- Brian Parker
The biggest names off the list are obviously Maclin and DeVito, both who are weekly starters. DeVito also suffered a concussion against the Vikings. It will be tough for the Chiefs without DeVito, who is one of their best run defenders.

Ramik Wilson is also a name I’d rather not be seeing on this list, as he’s had a promising rookie season so far. Wilson was a fourth round draft pick out of Georgia for the Chiefs.
Let’s go back to the main point of conversation though, and that’s not having Maclin on the roster on Sunday. The Chiefs are already without Jamaal Charles, who was lost for the season with a torn ACL two weeks ago. Now their offense is down yet another man, as Maclin will sit this week out.
Maclin only has one touchdown to his name while in Kansas City, but his impact has been prominent. He’s had 39 receptions for 531 in six games with a long of 61 yards. He’s been a guy Smith can rely on, Smith just can’t always seem to get the ball to him, which is unfortunate.
Hopefully Wilson and Conley can pick up the slack this week, but man it’s looking grim for the Chiefs on Sunday. They will be facing Pittsburgh’s third string quarterback though, as both Ben Roethlisberger and Michael Vick are inactive for the Steelers.
Here are the inactives for the Pittsburgh Steelers:
- Will Allen
- Ben Roethlisberger
- Michael Vick
- Stephon Tuitt
- Terence Garvin
- Byron Stingily
- Jesse James
Let’s hope that with Landry Jones taking the snaps for the Steelers, the Chiefs have a chance to rattle him and can make big plays on defense to make up for the loss of Maclin on offense.
