Kansas State football now drops to a .500 record at 3-3 on the year and things won’t get any easier for this Wildcat squad. The good news is that next week’s opponent, the Texas Longhorns, isn’t ranked, BUT they defeated Oklahoma weeks back. Bad sign?

After next week, the Wildcats face the Baylor Bears who creamed in-state rival Kansas 66-7. It probably won’t be any better for KSU especially after seeing how badly their defense got beat against the Sooners.

This season got off to a decent start, but Kansas State just doesn’t look like a team capable of winning big games. They’ve lost three games in a row, and all three of those games were to conference opponents.

The most worrisome aspect in all of this is at the quarterback position. Hubener has been struggling as of recently, and the fact that Cook was not a good sign. Hubener had a slow start to the season, but looked like he was getting back on track. He proved this weekend, however, that he was not the answer at quarterback for the Kansas State Wildcats.

It’ll be a long week for KSU, that’s for sure. They have a lot to think about after this dumpster fire of a game, and if they can’t figure things out, it could be a long rest of the season for the Kansas State football team.
