Mizzou football will host the South Carolina Gamecocks next Saturday morning at Faurot Field in Columbia, Missouri.

No rest for the weary. Not in the SEC.

South Carolina beat the University of Central Florida yesterday 31-14. They’ll enter next week’s contest at 2-2. Both teams have not lost to Kentucky, so there will be plenty to play for in the SEC East standings.

If Mizzou can win, they’ll go to 1-1 in the SEC Conference and pit South Carolina in a 0-3 hole that no team is likely to come out of. If Mizzou loses, well…we won’t go there.

Mauk must be better than his 15-for-30 performance against Kentucky on Saturday and the Mizzou defense must find a way to impact the game.

Kentucky’s quarterback Patrick Towles finished 22-for-27 for 249 yards and two touchdowns. A 48-yard kick return by Sihiem King didn’t help matters either.

It’s on to the next one for Mizzou. Come back home, implement a gameplan for a Steve Spurrier team and take this thing one week at at time. The last thing Mizzou wants to do is get caught looking ahead to that October 10 showdown with the Florida Gators.

How do you assess the Tigers’ performance yesterday?
