KC Chiefs Must Move On From Tough Loss

facebooktwitterreddit

The KC Chiefs lost a heartbreaker on Thursday night against the Denver Broncos, but they can’t let it ruin their season.

The loss on Thursday sucked. There’s really no other way to say it.

The Chiefs offense played like crap. They turned the ball over five times, and really had no business even being in that game at all.

  • Kansas City’s defense, however, showed up and kept the Chiefs in the game the entire time. Hell, the Chiefs didn’t even trail in the game until when it mattered most – the last thirty seconds.

There was a lot of bad in the Chiefs’ most recent game, but there was some good. As I just mentioned, the defense was good, and the tight ends both played well too. We could have a mini Travis Kelce on our hands with rookie James O’Shaughnessy. He had two nice catch and runs in week two.

Even though this loss was tough to take, the Chiefs must move on and learn from it. They’ll need  to fix all the mistakes they made in this one and not repeat them when they travel to Wisconsin to face the Green Bay Packers on Monday Night Football.

While not many are counting the Chiefs to put a dent in the Packers’ undefeated start, there’s a reason teams play the game. You just never know what could happen.

Remember the last time the Chiefs and Packers squared off? The Packers were 13-0, coming into Arrowhead Stadium against a 5-8 Chiefs squad, and Kansas City came out of that one victorious.

The point is that the Kansas City Chiefs certainly have a shot in this one. Sure, Aaron Rodgers is a great quarterback, possibly one of the best in the entire league, but the Chiefs have a great defense and hey… Rodgers has to throw an interception at home eventually, right? Who else to break that streak than the Chiefs who have had two interceptions this season already (both from rookie Marcus Peters).

Green Bay’s defense is decent, but Alex Smith will want to improve off of his not-so-stellar start in week two and hopefully he can get some passes to Jeremy Maclin in this one to help get the pressure off of Kelce and Jamaal Charles.

The Chiefs looked shaky against the Broncos, but their week one win showed that this team has talent. If Kansas City can put the ugliness of their Thursday night loss behind them, we could be looking at a big upset in Lambeau against the Green Bay Packers.
