As Bill Belichick would say, we’re on to Green Bay.
Flush this one. Forget about the bad stuff and build on the good stuff.
Or to take from Catherine Goldhammer: “Someday, we’ll look back on this, laugh nervously, and change the subject.”
The Chiefs will face the Broncos for the second time on November 15, fresh off of a Week 9 Bye.
For now, here’s some positives that the Chiefs will take into Week 3 at Green Bay:
- Jamaal Charles ran for 125 yards on 21 carries, including the team’s first touchdown, a 34-yard run that the entire offense played a hand in.
- The Chiefs defense allowed fewer than 300 total yards. They sacked Manning three times, scored a defensive touchdown and allowed 2.8 yards-per-carry.
- Linebackers Justin Houston and Tamba Hali combined for five quarterback hits. Peters posted four passes defended.
When it was all said, the Chiefs looked every bit as talented as the Broncos. This is one game of 16, and the Broncos have some serious holes for other teams to exploit.
Until Week 9, no more mention of the Broncos.
