Kansas City Chiefs Vs Denver Broncos Showdown

Wow, I can’t believe it is already time for Week 2 of the NFL season to start.

This week should be a good one with a lot of intriguing match-ups, however, we all know that the big game is tonight as the Kansas City Chiefs play the Denver Broncos.

Many storylines surround this game. It’s a battle between the team that is looking to take over the AFC West and the team that has pretty-well dominated the division for the last few years. It is top defense against top defense.

Needless to say, it is going to be an amazing game to watch. Arrowhead Stadium will be rocking, and hopefully the Chiefs can pull something off to get the win.

Three Ingredients For Chiefs Success

I would like to see the Chiefs run the ball more this week.

We have one of the best backs in the NFL on our side. Running back Jamaal Charles had a good receiving game last week, but did not run the ball very well on his few carries. The Chiefs have already established the passing game this season, now it is time to show the running game.

On defense, the Chiefs need to get to Peyton Manning.

Even though Manning has shown signs of aging, if you give him time he will eat you alive. He is the greatest quarterback of our generation and his knowledge of the game is endless. Even if he doesn’t have the physical ability he once did, he can still beat you with his intelligence. Also, don’t forget about his talented wide receiver core.

As I neglected to state in my game awards from Week 1, the Chiefs have as good a special teams as you will find.

Dustin Colquitt always pins his punts inside the 20 yard line, De’Anthony Thomas burns defenders to get the Chiefs in good starting field position, and Cairo Santos can knock down a long field goal (most of the time) for you when needed.

Last week, the special teams were the biggest reason the Chiefs were able to score and defend effectively. The Texans started almost every possession inside their own 20. This led to the Marcus Peters interception, which led to the Chiefs scoring the first touchdown of the game. Special Teams got the team rolling.

Final Prediction

The Chiefs win 24-17.

Combining the talent this team has and the world-record-setting loud crowd, the Chiefs will be too hot for Denver to handle. Justin Houston & Co. will get to Manning, and Charles will break a run deep for a long touchdown. Special teams will be huge as the Broncos will have to start most possessions deep in their own territory while the deafening fans roar.
