facebooktwitterreddit

The Kansas City Chiefs play the Arizona Cardinals on Saturday in the team’s first preseason game of 2015.

Two days, KC Chiefs fans. Make it through these next two days and we’ll get this thing kicked off against the Arizona Cardinals at their place in Phoenix.

Chiefs safety Eric Berry is expected to play, according to ESPN’s Adam Teicher on Twitter.

How much will he play? That’s unknown, but the fact that Eric Berry will be on the field playing in an NFL football game on August 15th, 2015 is incredible. If he does play, expect a pick, a K.O., or some other flash from him because he’s Eric Berry and Eric Berry is a football warlock.

Receiver Chris Conley practiced for the first time at training camp, according to KCChiefs.com. It’s not clear if he’ll play against he Cardinals, it seems unlikely he would play much, but it’s great news for the Chiefs.

Jamaal Charles: Offseason Moves Show ‘We Want To Win’ [Matt Verderame – Arrowhead Addict]

"There are many things to love about Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles. One of the reasons is when he steps to the microphone, no punches will be pulled. On Wednesday afternoon, Charles was specifically asked about his offensive lines of both 2014 and 2015, and Charles did not skirt the questions."

KC Chiefs: Derrick Johnson And Travis Kelce Putting In Work [Alec Tilson – KC Kingdom]

"The secret is out on Kelce around the league, though. He’s going to see a lot of different looks, a lot of attention and a lot of hands-on defense from opposing teams this season."

Ron Jaworski: Full NFL Quarterback Rankings [Leigh Oleszczak – KC Kingdom]

"Smith has been with the Chiefs for two seasons and has gone 19-11 during that span. Not all Chiefs fans are happy with Smith’s play, especially since he’s not the one to throw the ball downfield (his longest pass last season was 47 yards), but Smith doesn’t cost the team games."

De’Anthony Thomas Just Embarrassed This Guy (Video) [Josh Hill – FanSided]

"Thomas, who recently converted from running back to wide receiver, showed off his skills at the expense of Phillip Gaines. Not only did Thomas show some great speed off the line, but he absolutely destroyed the ankles of this cornerback in the most embarrassing way."

Kansas City Chiefs Desperately Need Dontari Poe At His Best [Cian Fahey – Bleacher Report]

"While Poe is very heavy, he’s also very athletic. That allows him to remain on the field for an unnatural amount of time, acting as an effective pass-rusher in nickel packages.According to Football Outsiders, Poe played over 1,000 snaps last year. Playing over 1,000 snaps in an NFL season is a phenomenal achievement—which becomes even more impressive when you’re playing one of the more physically draining and violent positions in the sport."

NFL Power Rankings: Packers, Seahawks Rule To Start Preseason [Elliot Harrison – NFL.com]

"Kansas City has a legit shot to win the AFC West this season, but the Chiefs must make good on the outside. That means someone opposite Jeremy Maclin is going to have to step up. No more trying to rely on the Donnie Averys and A.J. Jenkinses of the world. Maybe De’Anthony Thomas will be the man."

KC Chiefs Starting O-Line For Week 1 Preseason [Joel Thorman – Arrowhead Pride]

"The surprise with the Morse-Fulton-Allen line is that Stephenson isn’t included. He was one of the Chiefs best offensive linemen back in 2013 but that was, obviously, nearly two years ago. He hardly played at all last season but I still thought he merited a spot on the first team line."

Chiefs Already Seeing Impact WR Jeremy Maclin Could Make In 2015 [Lindsay H. Jones – USA Today]

"What Smith saw was a versatile player — a precise route runner who was also effective in the red zone after scoring 36 career touchdowns, including 10 in 2014. That intrigued Smith, especially given the lack of impact Kansas City’s wideouts had last season. Not one of Smith’s 18 touchdown passes last year was caught by a wide receiver."
