If my predictions come from these games stand true, the Kansas City Chiefs will have a 12-4 record and that should be good enough to punch their ticket to the postseason. Maybe I was too nice when predicting the wins and losses, but I have faith in this year’s team.

Honestly, I originally had the Chiefs defeating the Denver Broncos in week two, but not having Sean Smith there will hurt. Peyton Manning will likely be having a field day against a second-year guy and a rookie cornerback in the secondary.

All in all, this season should result in a postseason berth and… Dare I say it… a postseason victory!

All of that aside though, 2015 will be a special season for the Chiefs. I am usually quite the pessimist when it comes to Chiefs football. It’s come with growing up in Kansas City and watching my teams lose all the time (I love you Sporting Kansas City for not consistently losing).

In other words, me saying that this will be a special season for the KC Chiefs should mean something. It means that there’s hope with this roster. Alex Smith is a much better quarterback than people give him credit for. Jeremy Maclin is just the type of wide receiver this team needs. Jamaal Charles is one of the best running backs in the NFL. Travis Kelce is a young tight end on the rise.

Oh, and did I mention that the Chiefs have an incredible defense? With Justin Houston signed to a new deal, Tamba Hali restructuring his contract to stay a Chief, Derrick Johnson and Mike DeVito returning, this Chiefs D will be scary. Not to mention the secondary shouldn’t look too bad, especially once Sean Smith returns.

All in all, this season should result in a postseason berth and… Dare I say it… a postseason victory!
