After seeing how little the Astros had to give up for Scott Kazmir, I feel confident that the Royals could get decent deals for Leake and/or Chavez, and likely wouldn’t break the bank doing so.

The Kansas City Royals have gone through a lot this season and have managed to overcome those obstacles, and even come back stronger.

As for the bat side, I’d be okay with the KC Royals getting Ben Zobrist. I like Zobrist because of his ability to play almost anywhere on the field. He likely won’t be easy to acquire for that same reason (teams will be all over that), but Zobrist would be a top-notch replacement in Gordon’s absence and could jump into right field should Alex Rios begin to struggle again.

The Kansas City Royals have gone through a lot this season and have managed to overcome those obstacles, and even come back stronger. Even though the team doesn’t have Alex Gordon for another month or so, they’ve had two other guys step up admirably for the long-time Royal. That’s the sign of a really good team.

As angry as this post will make some of you, remember last year when the Royals stayed put and only added lesser known guys (Jason Frasor, Raul Ibanez, Josh Willingham). I could see a similar trait happening this year, and am prepared for that. Plus… These guys are 19 games over .500 without a “solid” rotation and continue to build on their wins without their leader Alex Gordon.

Now let’s hear it Royals fans. What trade do you want to see happen and what/who are you willing to give up to get it?
