The KC Chiefs news was hot this week, as free agent wide receivers were all the rage (but so is the current top tight end on the roster), and the team made cuts as it trims down the roster with training camp drawing near.
Questions will soon be answered, but some already were by Chiefs kicker Cairo Santos as he sat down with FanSided’s Lauren Draper to talk about the upcoming season, as well as last year.
Oh, and because you can’t go a day without talking about quarterbacks when it comes to the NFL, the backup for the Chiefs even made some headlines on KCKingdom.
Check out what’s trending throughout Fansided.com:
Kansas City Chiefs Kicker Cairo Santos Talks About His Rookie Year [Arrowhead Addict]
"“I feel like I understand what it takes in terms of expectations from coaches. And on Sunday’s being on the field, how much pressure there is – I understand that now and feel more prepared. I also think my kicking game has improved. I’ve gotten stronger, added some weight. I feel like I’m kicking the ball a little better than last year, certainly with better rhythm with our holders and the snappers.”"
Can Travis Kelce Be Better Than Tony Gonzalez [Arrowhead Addict]
"This is a hard topic to cover for me as a Kansas City Chiefs fan. I started following the team in 1995 so I missed the glorious Joe Montana years. However, I did get to watch the story unfold just a couple of years later of my all-time favorite Chiefs player, Tony Gonzalez."
Chase Daniel Underrated As Backup Quarterback [KC Kingdom]
"The KC Chiefs have an almost sure thing headed into the 2015 when it comes to the one and two quarterback spot. Obviously Alex Smith is the starter, and most signs point to Chase Daniel backing up Smith for the third season in a row."
Here’s some other good Chiefs stuff from around the internet:
Chiefs Cut Justin Cox After Arrest [Arrowhead Pride]
"News surfaced this morning that Cox, who was a Chiefs UDFA signing in May, had been arrested in Mississippi and charged with domestic assault. This marks the second domestic violence incident that Cox has found himself in. The Chiefs predictably cut ties with him soon after the news came out."
Revisiting Evan Mathis And The Chiefs [Arrowhead Pride]
"Mathis has traditionally been a left guard though he has played on the right side at times in his career. Mathis isn’t a mauler but his reputation is that of one of the best run blocking guards in the league."
How Chiefs WR Chris Conley Is Already Proving He Belongs [KCChiefs.com]
"Assessing all the evidence, rookie wide receiver Chris Conley has shown a great deal of potential heading into his first season in a Kansas City Chiefs uniform."
