Damper Expectations
There you have it, folks. These guys may not have the polish and shine you’d hope for, but virtually any combination of these guys could really help the Royals, and not cost a lot in terms of cash/long-term commitment, or more importantly prospects.
If I’m putting all my cards on the table, I’d say the injury to Gordon increases the Royals likelihood of obtaining an outfield bat ten-fold.
The need for starting pitching is glaring as well. I look for them to address those two issues via trade, and ride out the season with Infante at second base.
The Kansas City Royals probably won’t make a huge move, but don’t be surprised if they go after some of these lesser named, cheaper players to bolster their roster over the upcoming months.
