KC Royals News: Rumors, Moves, All-Stars And Walk-off Wins

facebooktwitterreddit

It’s only Wednesday, but KC Royals news has been strong this week. From players rumors, to walk-off wins to all-star studs, the Royals are closing out the first half of the season with some excitement.

While rumors are always popular (and always seem to involve Johnny Cueto lately), the KC Royals have overshadowed the player chatter and wowed fans with walk-off wins and all-star starters.

With a ho-hum 7-1 victory Tuesday in Game 2 of a doubleheader against the Tampa Rays, the Royals ended a streak of three consecutive wins ending with a walk-off hit.

However, the win completed the twin bill sweep and was the fourth in five games for Kansas City. The dramatics were as high as they have been all season during Game 1 Tuesday when Paulo Orlando, who had just been called up earlier in the day, did this with one out in the bottom of the ninth of a 5-5 ballgame.

To make room for Orlando, the Royals designated reliever Jason Frasor for assignment. As John Viril of Kings of Kauffman explains in an article below, Frasor could return to the Royals, but will likely be claimed off waivers. The casualty came because KC Royals manger Ned Yost “needed more outfield flexibility due to nagging injuries to Lorenzo Cain and Jarrod Dyson,” according to Viril.

With all the wild wins and player moves, lost in the shuffle is the fact the Royals earned four starters in the all-star game, two reserves and could possibly get one more if Mike Moustakas wins the Final Vote.

They have already beat the team record of five Royals on the all-star roster.

So, as the Royals continue to own the best record in the American League, sit back and enjoy what could be a wild, exciting second half of the season.

Oh, and just for fun, we’ve included below a Salvador Perez Instagram post, because who doesn’t like a Salvador Perez Instagram post?
