The Kansas City Chiefs have been fortunate to have had some great players on special teams over the years. Tamarik Vanover and Dante Hall were two of the best return men for the Chiefs while Nick Lowery and Jan Stenerud were two of the best kickers for the team.

Dustin Colquitt is easily the best punter this team has seen. The defense is able to be as dominant as they are because Colquitt gets the football down within the five yard line more than anyone in the game.

Of course, you can’t forget a guy like Kendall Gammon, who despite being a long snapper, proved to be a valuable role in the Chiefs organization over the years.

Hopefully guys like Knile Davis and De’Anthony Thomas will be considerations for this list in a few years from now, and it’s not impossible by any means for that to happen. The Chiefs have relied heavily on these two to make big plays and it’s quite possible they could help Kansas City become one of the best special teams in the NFL in 2015.

As for now though, these five guys were the best special teams players that the Kansas City Chiefs have had over the years.
