Three of the five quarterbacks on this list have played within the last 10 years for the KC Chiefs, the other two were in the 70s and 80s.

Some of the honorable mentions for this list consisted of Matt Stevens and Frank Seurer, but I don’t think that either had enough starts to really prove how bad they were. Stevens started two games in 1987, losing both and throwing one touchdown and one interception. Seurer started two games in 1987 as well. He lost both of them and threw zero touchdowns and four interceptions.

While it’s not necessarily a blast reading through some of these awful quarterbacks, hopefully it will help fans realize that the Kansas City Chiefs have a good thing going with Alex Smith under center.

I did have a friend tell me that Matt Cassel deserved to be on this list, and I strongly disagreed with him. Cassel certainly sucked during his last year as a Chief, but he led Kansas City to a division title in 2010, something that hadn’t been done in seven years, and hasn’t been done since.

Not only that, but Cassel has gone on to start games for other NFL teams since his days in Kansas City. Hell, the Bills even traded for him this off season!

To me, this list was pretty easy to compile when it came to picking who actually made the cut. All of the guys chosen had enough starts to show they were not good quarterbacks and several have even gone on to be labeled as some of the biggest draft busts in the NFL.

While it’s not necessarily a blast reading through some of these awful quarterbacks, hopefully it will help fans realize that the Kansas City Chiefs have a good thing going with Alex Smith under center. He might not be the best quarterback in the world, but he’s capable of leading this team to victory, and can hopefully help this team round the corner and win a playoff game this season.
