KC Royals News: Dayton Moore Makes Right Moves And Rotation Options

facebooktwitterreddit

KC Royals news and notes from around the internet over this past weekend.

KC Royals news from this week seemed to really focus on the team’s faltering rotation. A few options were bandied about, including Cole Hamels, Scott Kazmir, and Mike Leake. The Royals need their rotation to either get things turned around fast, or make a move or two to bolster that group.

It seems as if people are starting to accept what a fine job General Manager Dayton Moore has done in acquiring productive, under valued players, in recent season, as well getting credit for not panicking and making unnecessary moves.

If the Kansas City Royals decide to make a move or two to improve the rotation, or any other part of the roster, Moore’s track record in recent seasons should be enough to assure everyone that he will make the right moves.

There was some nice KC Royals news involving their minor league system. Bubba Starling may finally be finding his stride as a professional baseball player. His future in the majors is still very murky, but it is nice to so progress.

Also, the Royals’ AAA affiliate, the Omaha Storm Chasers are hosting the AAA All-Star game this summer.

Kansas City Royals Prospect Watch: Bubba Starling [Kings of Kauffman]

"Starling has begin to pick up his production, turning in a .255/.356/.490 batting line with three home runs and three doubles overall for the Naturals."

Kansas City Royals: The Secret 15 Million Dollar Acquistion [KC Kingdom]

"Beyond the chemistry, though, is the fact that these guys are young and still improving. Moose’s hitting adjustment has been beaten to death at this point, but beyond that, Hosmer’s breakout, Cain’s MVP-caliber start, and Salvy’s continued dominance have acted like the blockbuster off-season acquisition the Royals never formally made."

KC Royals: Dayton Moore Was A Genius Last Winter [Kings of Kauffman]

"So far, every 2015 free-agent on the roster has performed well through the first 36 games of the season. That’s not even counting Moore’s decision to bring back relieversJason Frasor (1-0, 0.79 ERA) and Luke Hochevar (0-0, 6.00 ERA in only 3 innings, but he’s shown nasty stuff)."

Replacing Omar Infante Will Christian Colon [Royals Review]

"There’s no question Colon has been better than Infante since 2014, and in fact he’s been twice as good as Infante in a quarter of the playing time."

Are The Royals and Their B-Boat (Best Bullpen of All-Time) Re-Inventing The Game? [Royals Blue]

"More and more teams will try and duplicate what the Royals have done, turning games into 6-or-7-inning games."

The Case Against Alcides Escobar: Lead-off Hitter [Royals Authority]

"Escobar’s current numbers are impressive. He owns a slash line of .305/.345/.419 with an OPS+ of 110. If the season ended today, all of those numbers would be career highs. It’s an impressive start and the Royals have certainly benefited with his bat at the top of the order. However, the evidence of his approach at the plate suggests his success is going to be short-lived. The Royals have gotten lucky so far."

Hopefully, the KC Royals news will be positive for the upcoming week. The Royals are trying to separate themselves from the Detroit Tigers but are having no luck thus far. Maybe this is the week!
