Okay so maybe the wide receiver market is a little scarce, but still. Any of these guys could instantly help out a Chiefs receiving group that didn’t fare too well in 2014. As we all know, the KC Chiefs had zero touchdowns to wide receivers and until more depth is added, we likely won’t hear the end of that.

This season already will see Jeremy Maclin as a starter, but it’d be nice to add someone reliable on the opposite side of the field. Out of these guys I listed, James Jones would likely be the only “for sure” starter. Wes Welker could be a starter, but his injury riddled past would worry even the biggest fan.

The other three guys would probably be third or fourth receiver options although Reggie Wayne could potentially be a starter in the right situation.

The KC Chiefs did add Georgia wideout Chris Conley in the third round of the 2015 NFL Draft, which was a bit surprising that they waited that long despite the glaring need in that second spot. Conley very well could compete to be a starter this season, but it might be best to let him learn behind Maclin and maybe Avant.

Overall though, it’ll be interesting to see if the Kansas City Chiefs decide to add another receiver to their roster.
