KC Chiefs 2015 NFL Draft Wish List: Day Three
Alabama Crimson Tide linebacker Trey DePriest (33) – Mandatory Credit: Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports
Trey DePriest played inside linebacker at Alabama, and it just so happens that the Kansas City Chiefs need an inside linebacker. Coincidence? I think not.

The reason DePriest comes in at number 10 on my list is because he will likely be available until the later rounds, if not for the duration of the draft. Obviously it’d be nice to see the Chiefs get an inside linebacker earlier, but if not, DePriest is certainly an option here.
While the Chiefs currently have Derrick Johnson at inside linebacker, he was injured for the entire season last year and it really affected the Chiefs’ run defense. It affected it so much that the defense couldn’t stop the run for anything.
Johnson is back this year, but who knows how much longer he’ll be able to be that dominant linebacker he once was? Adding a guy late in the draft like DePriest makes sense.
"Burly and thick through his middle, DePriest needs plays to unfold in front of him to play at his best. With offenses becoming matchup-oriented, DePriest’s value to an NFL team could be diminished. Best-suited as a two-down ILB in a 3-4 defense. – NFL.com"
