Round 6, Pick 17

Jordan Richards is one of my favorite type of players. He is considered a leader on a high character program, and has a high work rate. He is also considered a good teammate and a student of the game.

"He is very tough and extremely competitive. Very effective against the run, but plays ball very well. He shows up in all facets of the game. Overall he looks pretty fluid and athletic. He has good agility and gets his hands on a lot of passes -Courtesy of Bo Marchionte of CBS Sports"

Richards is someone that can develop into a good player after a couple years of being coached by professional coaches.

The down side of Richards is that he is a bit undersized and slow. At 5’11” tall and 211 pounds Richards was able to get away with being undersized in college, but guys are a lot bigger in the NFL and safeties are often asked to defend big tight ends. Richards will struggle in that aspect because he will likely be giving up around six inches to most tight ends.

Richards ran a 4.65 40 yard dash at the NFL Combine which ranks him 14th among all strong safeties in the 2015 NFL Draft. For comparison to NFL Tight Ends Travis Kelce ran a 4.61 40 yard dash.

Richards is ranked as the sixth best player at his position, and the 175th overall prospect in the draft.
