With 10 total picks (plus four compensatory picks that weren’t included in this particular mock draft), the KC Chiefs have no excuse not to address major needs. I had the Chiefs addressing the majority of the struggling positions including wide receiver, cornerback, and inside linebacker.

Towards the beginning of the draft, I selected a lot of offensive players because honestly, the defense had a pretty great season in 2014. Yes, there are holes on both sides, but the offense needs more help.

The KC Chiefs drafted two players from Kansas State University in this mock draft, which wouldn’t be too hard to believe. It’d be nice to add some local guys to the team. I also wouldn’t be surprised to see the Chiefs look at guys like wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham (who played for the Missouri Tigers for two years) and inside linebacker Ben Heeney of the Kansas Jayhawks.

Both of those positions are needs for the Kansas City Chiefs, and it doesn’t hurt that the two played fairly close to Kansas City and are likely familiar with the Chiefs.

Overall though, I enjoyed this particular mock draft because I felt like it was more realistic. I was able to draft more than just one player in each round and it started getting me more pumped for draft day.
