The Cinderella Story: Eastern Washington Eagles (13th seed in South)
If any small school has a chance to make a run this March, it’s Eastern Washington.
Champions of the Big Sky Conference, the Eagles went 14-4 in their conference. While they lost to Southern Methodist by nine in November, they managed to beat a decent Indiana Hoosiers team on the road.

Eastern Washington has a top-three scoring offense in the nation, largely in thanks to sophomore Tyler Harvey. Harvey leads the nation in scoring with 22.9 points per game, while junior forward Venky Jois contributes almost 17 points per game as well.
A team like Eastern Washington would usually not have a chance to get past the opening weekend of the NCAA tournament, their match-ups seem favorable at first glance. Their first game is against the Georgetown Hoyas. While the Hoyas are a much higher seed, Georgetown is notorious for losing their first game in March, most notably two years ago in a loss to 15-seed Florida Gulf Coast.
While no 9th seed or lower has ever won the Big Dance, Eastern Washington could make some noise this weekend. Why not take a risk and impress some friends if they pull it off?
