2015 NFL Mock Draft: KC Chiefs Looking For Balance

Seventh round picks are pretty hit or miss, typically they’re misses. Farzin Vousoughian of Bleacher Report predicts the Chiefs will round out their draft by taking a defensive player in the final round.
"Dontari Poe has made some strides the past two seasons, punching his ticket to the Pro Bowl both of those years. Darius Philon can get on board and play behind him. While adding depth, Philon could see a little bit of playing time if he makes the 53-man roster."
It’s tough to criticize a seventh round pick, but I’d rather Kansas City go either wide receiver or offensive line with their final pick. Vance Walker currently backs up Dontari Poe and did a decent job at it last season so I don’t necessarily think going after a nose tackle is the best solution here. Still though, it’s a late round pick.
To Sum Up
This is one of the few mock drafts I’ve seen where Kansas City has focused equally on both sides of the ball. Most of the mock drafts floating around on the internet have the Chiefs going mostly on offense, picking up several wide receivers and offensive linemen.
I like the fact that Farzin Vousoughian rotated between picking offensive and defensive players. His draft also picked players that fit what the Kansas City Chiefs need to fill the most: cornerback, inside linebacker, offensive line, safety, and wide receiver.
Whatever the KC Chiefs decide to do in the 2015 NFL Draft, it hopefully will add enough weapons that the Chiefs will have a fighting chance at winning the AFC West for the first time since 2010.
