It’s that easy!
Alex Gordon, especially with the departures of James Shields and Billy Butler, is easily the face of the Royals right now. He has spent his whole career in the Royals organization after being drafted by the team second overall in 2005.

He has eight years in the majors with the KC Royals, and is the only current Royal in the franchise’s top 15 in home runs, at tenth. He has 157 doubles over the last four seasons, including a Major League leading 51 in 2012.
It is hard not to be a fan of Gordon’s if you watch him play. He dives. He runs into walls. He robs home runs and base hits. He throws out base runners.
His spectacular defense makes him a special player. Last season, Alex Gordon led the majors in Ultimate Zone Rating with a mark of 25.0, according to Fangraphs.
Take a look at his 2014 highlights to see why he should be THE FACE of Major League Baseball, and not just the face of the Kansas City Royals.
Gordon was a leader on the field last season when the KC Royals returned to the post season after a 29-year hiatus. The example this veteran set kept the Royals striving toward the playoffs during the stretch run, and helped them reach the World Series. He drove in 11 runs during the post season. He also hit a home run and stole four bases in the playoffs
Gordon was standing on third base, after hitting a 9th-inning triple, with the Royals down one in the World Series, when the last out was recorded.
The Royals received a lot of love nationally during their post season run. Let’s keep the love alive and show our support for the KC Royals and our own Alex Gordon.
