While Devante Davis‘ 2014 stats weren’t fantastic, his junior season was fantastic with the UNLV Rebels. He had 87 receptions for 1,290 yards and 14 touchdowns in 2013 and was expected to repeat that success this past season, but a wrist injury sidelined him for several games. Davis never looked quite as good after that injury, but there’s still a chance he could bounce back and look like his junior season self.

Nice job in jump-ball situations to elevate and attack at the ball’s highest point. – Davis’ strengths according to Dane Brugler of CBS Sports"

This could be a risky pick, but it could pay off in the long run. As a seventh rounder, no one would expect Davis to be an immediate impact in the offense, but give him a year to get the hang of being in the pros and he could hopefully get back to how he played as a junior with the Rebels.

    Conclusion

The Chiefs need several wide receivers for the 2015 season. Donnie Avery, Junior Hemingway, and A.J. Jenkins just aren’t cutting it as some of the main wide outs in Kansas City. Throw in the fact that Dwayne Bowe might not even return to the Chiefs next season and that spells out a whole bunch of trouble in Kansas City as far as wide receivers go.

With at least 11 picks in the 2015 NFL Draft, John Dorsey has no excuse not to draft several wide receivers come May. The Chiefs lost out on several great receivers last year for whatever reason and after having to watch many of them have great rookie seasons, it’s time for Kansas City to get to experience that in 2015.
