2015 NFL Mock Draft: KC Chiefs Get a Steal in First Round

If you couldn’t tell, I really went crazy with the drafting of offensive players, but can you blame me? The Chiefs’ wide receivers and offensive line were awful in 2014 and those are the two major areas that need improvement. Three new wide receivers and three new offensive linemen give this team a chance to compete on offense this upcoming season and I think that’s pretty great.

I drafted one defensive player – a cornerback- for one of the league’s most surprising defenses last season. While the secondary played pretty well in 2014, adding another name to that part of the roster can only help the team.
Overall, I like how this draft turned out, but I wish I could have gotten a decent inside linebacker to take. There sadly weren’t any worth taking whenever I was on the clock as the Kansas City Chiefs, and I knew in the back of my mind that Derrick Johnson will still be around in 2015.
Once again, it is very unlikely that Amari Cooper will A) slide out of the top five and B) slide all the way down to the KC Chiefs in the first round. If he does though, Alex Smith will be one happy camper headed into the 2015 season, and I’m pretty sure that no wide receiver touchdown stat would be over in the first game of the season.
