5. KU will finish 14-4, one game ahead of Iowa St., and claim 11th straight conference title
The Kansas Jayhawks have finished 14-4 the past two seasons in the Big 12 Conference, and the way the schedule lays out, it’s very possible that could happen again after a 4-1 league start. Below is a prediction on how each remaining game should play out.
- @ Texas – L
- @ TCU – W
- K-State – W
- ISU – W
- @ OSU – L
- @ Texas Tech – W
- Baylor – W
- @ WVU – W

- WVU – W
- @ OU – L
Yes, there is a good chance KU loses Saturday. Texas always seems to give KU problems at home (Self is 3-4 in Austin), and with the talent of this Longhorns team, expect a Jayhawk loss – which, by the way, would not be awful.
The team with the most “success” against KU in the Self era is Oklahoma State. The Cowboys are 6-12 against the Jayhawks, and are one of four conference teams to beat the Kansas Jayhawks in Allen Fieldhouse the past 12 years. Self also is 3-4 playing at his alma mater.
Don’t expect the Sooners to forget what happened Monday night in Lawrence. The crowd will be rocking in Norman, and it just feels right that Oklahoma comes away with a win here. Winning at West Virginia and K-State will be no easy tasks, but the talent gap is too high for KU to lose.
Whatever happens this year, there is no doubt there will be drama included in the race to the top of the Big 12.
