With the regular season over in the NFL, college football players are making the decision if they want to declare for the draft or stay in school. One such decision was made on Tuesday by former Missouri Tiger Dorial Green-Beckham, who decided he’d forgo his senior season and head to the 2015 NFL Draft. Green-Beckham played for the Tigers in 2012 and 2013.

  • Green-Beckham transferred to Oklahoma after being dismissed by Gary Pinkel for several issues he sustained off the field. DGB never played a down for the Sooners, but will be entering the draft and hoping to make it in the pros.

Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk had this to say,

"“Based on talent alone, Green-Beckham is not only one of the best wide receivers in the draft but one of the best players at any position. At 6-foot-6 and 225 pounds with impressive speed (he was a state champion in the 100-meter dash in high school), Green-Beckham is a physical freak who has been compared to Randy Moss and would easily be a first-round draft pick if there were no character questions.”"

Dorial Green-Beckham had 12 touchdowns in 2013 with 883 receiving yards. Had he actually played his junior season at Oklahoma, Green-Beckham more than likely would be a first round pick (assuming he repeated his freshman and sophomore seasons). Due to the year off, however, it wouldn’t be surprising if he slid into the second round.

  • CBS Sports projects DGB as the fifth best receiver in the draft and 26th best player overall. The site predicts Green-Beckham could go late in the first round or early in the second round.

With all of the help needed at the wide receiver position in the NFL, I expect DGB to go early in the draft. His legal problems are concerning, but with the right coaching staff, he can hopefully cool it once he’s in the pros. The guy is super talented, but he needs to get his act together.

Dane Brugler of CBS Sports compares Dorial to Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green. If that’s the case, then whoever gets this guy is in for a treat hopefully. Let’s just hope he can stay focused and not cause any problems.
