Madden predicted that the Kansas City Chiefs would beat the Arizona Cardinals by way of blowout and the Chiefs laid an egg and failed to live up to the prediction. You can talk about calls not going the Chiefs way all you want, but they can’t let the refs decide the game. Let’s take a look at just how wrong Madden had things.

Despite the defense keeping the Chiefs in the game, the offense never could get going and failed to dominate the Cardinals as Madden predicted they would. The defense was gashed in the running game, but make no mistake this loss falls on the offense and the coaching staff.

Much of the talk since Sunday has been about how the refs won the game for the Cardinals, however, if Alex Smith didn’t throw the interception then the Chiefs still likely win the game. If the Chiefs stuck with the rushing attack, they likely would still win the game. The refs did have a few questionable calls, but the Chiefs had every opportunity to win the game and they failed to capitalize.

I love doing these weekly recaps because sometimes the numbers really do tell the story of the game and it definitely did in this game.
Jamaal Charles was able to take a carry 63 yards for a touchdown and I am suppose to believe the correct game plan was to only get him 9 more carries?
Dwayne Bowe is suppose to be an elite wide receiver, but can only come up with 2 receptions for 29 yards in a game where his team desperately needs him to step up.
Alex Smith is suppose to be an elite game manager, but throws a costly interception, which completely changes the tide of the game.
The only player that showed up statistically is Justin Houston. He was a force all day. Let’s hope the Kansas City Chiefs can get things going and get revenge on the Raiders this week.
