Kansas Jayhawks vs TCU Horned Frogs: Delayed Reaction

The Kansas Jayhawks dropped a close game to the TCU Horned Frogs on Saturday. Honestly, the Jayhawks should have won that one, and it still really stings.
Admit it. Even after a frustrating three-and-out which sent senior punter Trevor Pardula trotting on to the field, you were still thinking about the Kansas Jayhawks seriously pulling off the upset of the year.

I had already drafted the victory tweet in my head to the tune of “Is it ok to rush the field NOW?” but then the Horned Frogs ripped off a 69-yard punt return for a touchdown and the proverbial bottom dropped out.
As we all know, the special teams blunder gave TCU a 31-27 advantage going into the fourth quarter. While the Jayhawks defense stiffened in the final frame, holding the Horned Frogs to just another field goal, the offense couldn’t complete the comeback, eventually losing 34-30.
While I normally hate playing for moral victories, this was one of the most inspired games the Jayhawks have played all year – one for which they should be proud.
Much like last week, each of the Jayhawks units contributed to a complete overall game. True, they didn’t pull off the win, but this is the sort of game Kansas fans have been missing for the last five years.
