Kansas City is one of the best sports towns in the country, and KC Kingdom has a lot of fun bringing you news from around the area for our professional and collegiate teams.

Few fans are as passionate about their teams than Kansas City fans, whether it is making Arrowhead Stadium the loudest outside venue in the world, or filling up Sporting Park each match, or being Royal in Kauffman Stadium. The area also supports three of the most passionate college fan bases in the country.

Each morning, we will try to bring you some news from around our sports kingdom, in addition to the news, information, editorials, and analysis KC Kingdom already provides.

We may also pass along an interesting post or two from around the world wide web, just for fun.

We hope enjoy the news from Around The Kingdom. Happy reading!

Nicholas Alan Clayton of Arrowhead Addict loves the idea of the Kansas City Chiefs trading down if the right scenario presents itself. I am in agreement with Nicholas in this, but I am not certain teams will be willing to trade up to the 23rd pick. This could change if one of the top quarterback falls this far.

"It looks extremely unlikely that the top safeties, corners or wideouts will fall to the Chiefs at 23 and they can’t afford to expend any draft ammunition to go get them. However, the team will still be in the catbird seat for the second tier guys. I have yet to see a mock where none of those guys I mentioned above as “second tier” are available for the Chiefs."

You will have to read his excellent article to find out those aforementioned players are.

Who is ready for Kansas City Royals’ Billy Butler to get red hot? I know I can’t be alone in this. Hunter Samuels of Kings of Kauffman postulates that Camden Yards might just be the right place for Butler to find his power stroke. Let’s hope Hunter’s crystal ball is in mint condition.

"To date, Butler’s played in 23 games in Camden Yards, putting up the following line:101 PA, .323/.376/.591, 12 XBH, 6 HRI would say that’s fairly acceptable."

Seth Keysor on Arrowhead Pride breaks down the Chiefs schedule. As we all know, the schedule is going to be brutal for the Chiefs this season. I tend to be more pessimistic but Seth gives us a variety of possible outcomes.

On Royals Review, Discodave explores the stats of Salvador Perez in quest of the answer to the age old question – Does Salvador Perez need more rest? If you love stats, this is a treat. Thanks, Discodave. (No relation to Disco Stu on The Simpsons – as far as I know.)
