Top 5 Kansas City Chiefs Players By The Decade: The 1960’s
Mandatory Credit: Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports
So there you have it, my top 5 players from the 1960’s. Most of them were obvious choices as most of these players listed are legends to game. I think most of you will agree with this list but, I’m sure the order will get disagreed with a bit.
I put Len Dawson at five because I felt like the four guys I put ahead of him we’re just better all around football players. Dawson was dominant, but he wasn’t considered the best quarterback in the league at the time. Well he was in the AFL, but you know what I mean.

Honorable mentions go out to Otis Taylor, who was the biggest, fastest wide receiver of that era and is one of the most underrated players in professional football history. Taylor belongs in the Hall Of Fame and he definitely makes my top ten for this era, but not top 5.
Also, safety Johnny Robinson who is a forgotten name but dominant player for the Chiefs defense from 1963-1971. Known as “Johnny on the spot”, Robinson intercepted 53 passes in his career with Kansas City and earned 7 pro bowl selections. He too would be in my top 10 list.
