Madden Predicts Results Week 9: Kansas City Chiefs VS New York Jets

facebooktwitterreddit

Madden once again predicted the Kansas City Chiefs to win, but this time it predicted the Chiefs beat the Jets comfortably and the Chiefs rewarded it by doing just that. Let’s take a look at just how right Madden got it.

Final Score

Sim

Kansas City Chiefs – 24

New York Jets – 12

Reality

Kansas City Chiefs – 24

New York Jets – 10

It really doesn’t get much closer than that. I assumed when the Chiefs started with two touchdowns on their first two drives that we would see them score more than 24 points, but I was wrong.

I said in the Madden Predicts article that I expected both teams to finish with more than 88 rushing yards and I was correct about that. The Jets exceeded that mark by a good amount and the Chiefs were able to top it as well. I also said that I doubt the game finishes with zero turnovers by both sides and I was completely wrong. Overall the Madden sim did well when it came to team statistics. Let’s take a closer look at the players.

The Madden sim was off the rocker when it thought Hemingway would put up huge numbers like that. The sim seems to have Jamaal Charles and Dwayne Bowe down though. Cairo Santos seems like an easy one to predict as well. He’s been good for a 1/1 or 2/2 performance the past few weeks.

The biggest miss besides Junior Hemingway having a breakout game for the sim was how big of an impact Percy Harvin would have on the game. Other than those two hiccups, I think the sim did incredibly well.
