The Kansas City Chiefs' perfect run to begin the 2024 NFL season remained intact with Monday's 30-24 overtime victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. While several Chiefs contributed to the team's eighth victory, few played a more important role than wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins.

Try as they might, the Buccaneers couldn't do anything to slow down the 32-year-old playmaker. Hopkins caught all but one of the nine passes quarterback Patrick Mahomes sent his way, turning those opportunities into 86 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Unsurprisingly, Hopkins' performance has garnered attention around the league — including that of a former Chiefs fan favorite.

Chiefs News: Tyreek Hill Reacts to DeAndre Hopkins Week 9 Performance

Ex-Chiefs wideout and current Miami Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill hopped on social media Tuesday morning to share his thoughts about Hopkins. The speedy pass-catcher summed up his thoughts in a clear-cut five-word reaction: "Happy D-Hop s--- looking good."

The fact that Hill commented on Hopkins' dominant game shows that he's still keeping tabs on his former team. A former 2016 fifth-round pick by the Chiefs, the 30-year-old speedster was traded to the Dolphins in exchange for five draft picks ahead of the 2022 NFL season.

Whether it's coming from Hill or elsewhere, Hopkins deserves every ounce of praise he gets for his latest outing. His first touchdown of the night gave the Chiefs a three-point lead ahead of halftime while his second TD score gave his new team a one-possession lead with less than five minutes remaining in the game.

Hill knows how beneficiary it can be to play alongside Mahomes, which is likely another reason why he was thrilled by what Hopkins did. The eight-time Pro Bowl playmaker racked up 4,854 receiving yards and 43 TDs on 343 catches with Mahomes as his quarterback from 2018 to 2021.

Time will tell if Hopkins can also take advantage of the Chiefs' quarterback situation. Mahomes knows how to spread the ball around better than anyone else, meaning the veteran receiver's latest outing might not be a one-off performance.

Having said that, Hopkins and the rest of the Chiefs' pass-catchers will be in for a tough test when they host the Denver Broncos in Week 10. The Broncos' secondary doesn't give opponents much to work with, allowing only 186.6 receiving yards per game (6th) and 8.8 yards per completion (3rd).

Even if Denver's defense is strong, oddsmakers are still loving Kansas City. FanDuel Sportsbook is currently listing the Chiefs as the 8.5-point home favorites over the Broncos ahead of Sunday afternoon's showdown.
