Tyreek Hill Lands With Chiefs' Bitter Rival in Latest Offseason Prediction
The Kansas City Chiefs have a Division Round date with the Houston Texans on Saturday night. Even though the most important game of the Chiefs' season (so far) is on the horizon, that doesn't mean Kansas City fans can't take a few moments to think about the upcoming offseason.
With the number of remaining playoff teams dwindling, NFL analysts have been hard at work making a plethora of offseason predictions. Bleacher Report's Maurice Moton is the latest writer to share his 2025 offseason predictions, including one that would see a formerly beloved Chiefs land with one of the franchise's biggest AFC rivals.
Chiefs Offseason Rumors: WR Tyreek Hill Projected to Join Ravens
With trade rumors flaring up following the end of the regular season, Moton is predicting that the Miami Dolphins will trade ex-Chiefs wideout Tyreek Hill to the Baltimore Ravens this offseason. Considering how Baltimore is one of Kansas City's biggest threats in the AFC, the last thing John Harbaugh & Co. needs is to add a receiver of Hill's caliber.
"If the Ravens traded for Hill this offseason, they'd field an offense that terrifies opponents," Moton wrote. "Between Derrick Henry's power on the ground, Hill's speed on the perimeter, and (Lamar) Jackson's dynamic playmaking ability under center, they'd be nearly indefensible."
Rumors of a potential divorce came in Week 18 after Hill voiced his displeasure about the Dolphins missing the playoffs, marking the first time in his nine-year career that he won't be enjoying postseason football.
"I'm opening the door. I'm out, bro," Hill told reporters on Jan. 5. "It was great playing (in Miami), but at the end of the day, bro, I got to do what's best for my career. I'm too much of a competitor to be just out there."
After playing six seasons with the Chiefs, Hill was traded to the Dolphins in March 2022. He's remained one of the NFL's best wideouts throughout his time in Miami, however, things took a turn amid a 2024 campaign that saw the veteran playmaker record his fewest receiving yards (959) and touchdown catches (6) since his rookie season.
He enters the offseason with 11,098 yards and 82 TDs on 798 catches across 141 career games.
Although the Dolphins made the playoffs in Hill's first two seasons with the team, they were bounced from the Wild Card Round both times. Now that he's on the postseason sidelines for the first time, it's unsurprising that the eight-time Pro Bowl WR wants to play elsewhere in 2025.
With one of the most dangerous attacks in the league, the Ravens would offer Hill a solid opportunity to bounce back. Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman are both solid receivers, however, there weren't any other Baltimore wideouts who even hit the 300-yard mark this regular season.
Spotrac lists the Ravens as having about $22.6 million in available cap space this offseason. Even though that isn't enough to fit Hill's $28.6 million salary for the 2025 campaign, the two sides can make it work if the 30-year-old pass-catcher is willing to restructure his contract.
If Hill does get traded, hopefully, it's to an NFC team that the Chiefs won't have to deal with. The Ravens are already pesky enough as it is and adding Hill to their roster would only make them a bigger thorn in Andy Reid & Co.'s side.
