Potential Hollywood Brown Return Date Revealed Prior to Week 12 Kickoff
By Joe Summers
A surprise new Marquise "Hollywood" Brown injury update emerged just before Week 12's kickoff against the Carolina Panthers, indicating the Chiefs' speedy wideout could return by Christmas.
Kansas City squares off with the Pittsburgh Steelers that day, a major threat in the AFC who could present a threat with their stellar defense. While we knew that expectations suggested Brown would return sooner than later, this is the first time we've heard a specific timeline.
If Brown returns for the postseason, the Chiefs offense becomes all the more dangerous.
New Hollywood Brown Injury Report Indicates Return Timeline
As Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports reports, Brown is targeting a Christmas debut following the shoulder injury he suffered in the preseason.
While noting that Charles Omenihu and Isiah Pacheco should make their returns against the Raiders on November 29, Jones believes Brown will be on the field before the season ends.
"There's a possibility that we see Hollywood Brown back on the field this season as early as Christmas," Jones said.
That'd obviously provide the offense a massive boost. Xavier Worthy is a dangerous downfield threat, though he lacks the experience that Brown does. Brown posted a 1,000-yard season and routinely stretches the defense, theoretically creating extra space underneath for both Travis Kelce and DeAndre Hopkins to operate.
With Rashee Rice done for the season, Brown is the. most accomplished receiver on the roster aside from Hopkins. Pairing those two creates a dangerous combination and one that AFC teams will fear in the playoffs.
Here's hoping Jones' report is correct and Brown is nearing his return.
