Xavier Worthy Gives Thoughts on Readiness for 1st NFL Game
It's game week! After eight months of no NFL action, the games are finally back. The Kansas City Chiefs will begin the quest for a third straight Super Bowl championship as they host the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday at Arrowhead Stadium.
GM Brett Veach did a great job adding more talent to the offense this offseason. The Chiefs signed Marquise "Hollywood" Brown in free agency before adding Xavier Worthy in the NFL Draft.
Brown is going to miss Week 1 after suffering a sternoclavicular joint dislocation in the preseason. That means Worthy may see an expanded role in Week 1 but he thinks he's ready for the challenge.
Chiefs News: Xavier Worthy Thinks He’s Ready for Week 1
When speaking with reporters on Sunday, Worthy spoke on how he's feeling rolling into Week 1.
" I feel like I’m real comfortable understanding the system and the nuances. Why we do things. I wouldn’t say nerves. I feel like I’m ready."

That's the type of response you love to see coming from a rookie who could be thrust into the fire. Worthy is a speedy deep threat who can also run the full route tree. The Texas product has used this offseason to absorb as much information as possible and he's ready to get out on the field.
During his three years at The University of Texas at Austin, Worthy had 197 receptions for 2,755 receiving yards and 26 touchdowns.
Head coach Andy Reid is a mastermind at drawing up plays and creating the best matchups for his players. Worthy is someone who will reap the benefits of that and is eager to get out there for his team.
