Kareem Hunt is officially back with the Chiefs and we now have our first video of him practicing with the team. He's wearing #29 and it sounds like the coaching staff has big plans for him once he gets up to speed.

Following the news of Isiah Pacheco's injury, Kansas City knew it needed some extra depth at the position and elected to reunite with the former Pro Bowler.

Hunt famously led the league in rushing yards (1,327) during his rookie campaign. He'll now try to help the organization win a historic third consecutive Super Bowl.

First Look at Kareem Hunt With Chiefs Reunites

The general expectation is that Hunt won't play on Sunday in Week 3 against the Falcons, though Andy Reid expressed his excitement to have the former Toledo star back in the locker room.

After being released by the Chiefs, Hunt rebuilt his image with the Browns as a dangerous dual-threat back alongside Nick Chubb. He scored nine TDs in 2023 and is a viable weapon in the red zone, giving Reid another wrinkle with which to cause misery on defenses.

It remains to be seen how Hunt will be used in tandem with Carson Steele and Samaje Perine, but it appears that he'll have a decent-sized role once he's on the field. Hunt remembers wowing crowds at Arrowhead Stadium and relishes the opportunity to do so once again.

He looked spry at practice. There's still a long way to go, but Hunt is close to becoming a valuable contributor to the offense after all these years.
