Chiefs Hint at Surprise Plan for Kareem Hunt After Signing
It's been a hectic week in Kansas City rolling into the next contest. They are 2-0 right now after they picked up a close 26-25 win over the Cincinnati Bengals last week.
Despite racking up another W in the win column, running back Isiah Pacheco is going to be sidelined after he fractured his fibula.
That forced the Chiefs to pivot and bring in former Chief Kareem Hunt onto the team and head coach Andy Reid signals that Hunt may be on the field soon.
Chiefs News: Kareem Hunt Has a Chance To Play in Week 3
Reid took time to speak with reporters on Wednesday, and he revealed there is a "chance" that Hunt plays on Sunday Night Football against the Atlanta Falcons. Reid added that the Chiefs would want to get him some work in practice before activating him from the practice squad.
This is a bit surprising since Hunt signed with the Chiefs on Tuesday, but he may have shown the team that he's in shape and ready to roll during the workout.
It's been five years since the Toledo product has suited up in a Chiefs jersey but that drought will be over soon. He spent the past five seasons with the Cleveland Browns, racking up 2,285 rushing yards, 1,057 receiving yards, and 32 total touchdowns.
He can still provide his squad with a bruising tailback who has the hands to be a consistent pass-catcher.
Even if Hunt doesn't play in Week 3 against the Atlanta Falcons, he'll likely be on the field when the Chiefs battle against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sept. 29.
