Travis Kelce Shares Harsh Truth About Chiefs' Offensive Struggles

Chiefs fans aren't the only ones frustrated with the offense.

In the latest episode of New Heights with his brother Jason, Travis Kelce spoke openly about his mounting frustration with the unit's performance and of the urgency in the locker room to fix the isues as soon as possible.

Despite a 6-2 record atop the AFC with a huge lead in the divison, the Chiefs are hungry for more after a disappointing loss in Week 8.

"That's embarrassing, man," Kelce tells Jason. In recapping the Broncos game, Travis admitted "I don't think I've been in a situation where we've stalled this much as an offense throughout the year, definitely at this point in the season."

The Chiefs are averaging just 23.4 points per game this year after averaging at least 28.2 per game every season of Patrick Mahomes' career. Promising drives have consistently been uprooted by turnovers and silly mistakes, a fact not unnoticed in the Chiefs' locker room.

"It starts with not killing ourselves, man." Kelce opined. "Guys running the wrong routes, guys not making blocks, guys dropping the football." The superstar tight end raised his hand at each juncture, taking responsibility for his mistakes. "It's a challenge at this point in the season to get this thing right...before it gets out of control and it gets really bad."

Kelce showed his most angst, however, when discussing how well Kansas City's defense is playing and his disappointment in the offense not holding up its end of the bargain.

"Our defense is playing their tail off, " said Kelce. "For us to keep turning it over, putting them in bad positions and them saving our tail, it's getting real one-sided."

He emphasized that the team is looking in the mirror to fix the issues by admitting, "It's getting old to watch, Chiefs Kingdom, I know it is. It's not like what we've been in the past."

With the Chiefs turning their attention to a showdown with the Miami Dolphins in Germany, facing Tyreek Hill for the first time in the process, the organization knows improvements must be made.

"We've got to have a gut check on the offensive side of the ball," Kelce declared. "That's what we're doing." Based on this team's track record, I have faith that Kelce and the Chiefs will get rolling sooner rather than later.
