Travis Kelce Reveals Surprise Inspiration Behind Taylor Swift Performance
By Joe Summers
Travis Kelce has enjoyed a thrilling summer, complete with finally joining Taylor Swift on stage during one of her Era's Tour performances in London.
The Chiefs' superstar tight end spoke about the performance on the latest episode of his New Heights podcast, giving former Chiefs OC Eric Bieniemy credit for his famous "Don't Drop the Baby" phrase.
Bieniemy isn't the only person Kelce was inspired by though, as he noted he tried to mimic Jim Carrey's dancing style from the comedy Dumb and Dumber.
Travis Kelce Imitated Jim Carrey from Dumb and Dumber in Taylor Swift Performance
Carrey is a physical comedy genius and his spectacular tap dance stuck in Kelce's memory.
When telling Jason about preparing for the surprise appearance, Travis said Taylor found the "perfect part of the show" to have him jump onstage.
"I always wanted to pull out this move," Kelce continued. "It was the Dumb and Dumber. Jim Carrey, him like, doing the tap dances. That's one of my favorite movies of all time."
Jason was quick to point out that Travis also nailed a heel click while dressed in a full tuxedo, fitting right in alongside the professional performers. He's clearly enjoying his new-found stardom and blossoming relationship. With the Chiefs gearing up for a run at a third straight Super Bowl, Kelce's full attention will soon be on the football field.
After how successful his surprise appearance was though, I'd bet this won't be the last time we see Travis jump on stage with Swift.
