It's no secret the Chiefs' wide receivers, for the most part, were among the worst in the NFL last season. Patrick Mahomes and Kansas City overcame the anchor to win a second straight Super Bowl, though Brett Veach heavily committed to ensuring the Chiefs don't lead the league in drops (44) again.

Hollywood Brown was signed in free agency before the team traded up for Xavier Worthy in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft, giving Kansas City a dynamic trio to lead the receivers alongside rising star Rashee Rice.

According to a recent AFC wide receiver ranking from Pro Football Focus, Veach's efforts were successful. In fact, PFF believes the Chiefs have one of the best wide receiver units in the entire conference.

PFF Ranks Chiefs' WR Unit as Top Five in AFC

I've got a lot of faith in this offense, even if Rice does face a suspension at some point this year, and even I can admit this would be an incredible job by Veach if these rankings prove accurate.

Most thought the Chiefs had a bottom-three unit in 2023-24, so to transform the group into one of the conference's best would be tremendous. Looking across the AFC, it's easier to make the argument that Kansas City possesses an excellent group than you might think.

The top three units aren't really in question, and the Titans belong in the conversation with Calvin Ridley, DeAndre Hopkins, and Tyler Boyd. After that, it's murky. The Chargers lost both Keenan Allen and Mike Williams, the Steelers lost Diontae Johnson, and the Bills lost Stefon Diggs.

While the Chiefs struggled last year, the additions of Brown and Worthy significantly raise the floor of the group. Kadarius Toney and Skyy Moore are serviceable at the end of a depth chart and now won't be heavily relied on, giving Kansas City a much sturdier foundation than it once had.

If these rankings prove correct, the Chiefs are well on their way to a historic three-peat. FanDuel Sportsbook has Kansas City favored to win the Super Bowl at +600 odds, but those odds will prove to be a steal if these wide receivers are as good as advertised.
