The Chiefs won the Super Bowl and while we should take this time to relish the moment, it's never too soon to start thinking about next season.

We've had questions about the offense all year long, though it's expected that Matt Nagy will return as offensive coorindator.

Unless, of course, you ask Mike Florio. Take this report for what its worth, because we all know how much nonsense Florio pretends to report, but he seems to believe Eric Bieniemy might be back to coordinate the Chiefs' offense next year.

Mike Florio "Reports" Eric Bieniemy Could Return as Chiefs Offensive Coordinator

Bieniemy was relieved of his duties in Washington once the franchise hired Dan Quinn as head coach. The Commanders' offense struggled this year, though they ranked favorably offensively despite Sam Howell's inadequacies.

Florio did not expand on his report. Frankly, this seems like the annual dart throws he tosses up with no evidence to support it whatsoever, but nonetheless it's an interesting possibility to think about.

As of now, Bieniemy does not have a job. We know he spoke to the Chiefs prior to the AFC Championship game and assisted the coaching staff in installing some plays,

I think it's far more likely that Bieniemy returns in some sort of consultant role. Given Florio's history of unreliability, I don't believe there's any truth to this report whatsoever. I do, however, think the Chiefs are likely to have internal conversations about bringing Bieniemy back to some capacity.

We'll see what comes of the offseason, though I'd welcome Bieniemy back with open arms.
