The 2024 NFL regular season is back and it started off with a bang on Thursday night. The Kansas City Chiefs and the Baltimore Ravens squared off in a rematch of the 2023 AFC Championship Game but the result was the same.

The Chiefs beat the Ravens 27-20 to start the season off 1-0 but the game was certainly a nail-biter. Baltimore tight end Isaiah Likely made an athletic grab in the back of the end zone that he thought was a touchdown. Instead, his toe was out of bounds and the touchdown was overturned.

Rather than taking the loss and moving on to next week, Likely made a wild statement about the Chiefs.

Chiefs News: Isaiah Likely Makes Laughable Statement Postgame

When speaking to reporters after the game, Likely believes the Ravens didn't play their best ball and the Chiefs should be looking over their shoulder when the playoffs come around.

"This is probably the worst game we going to play all year. If this is they best that they got, good luck in the postseason."

Isaiah Likely

That is an interesting comment to say, especially since Patrick Mahomes is 4-1 against the Ravens in his career.

On Thursday, the Ravens had more first downs (25), total plays (74), total yards (452), and rushing yards (185) but still managed to lose. And he thinks this is the worst the Ravens will play? What about the Chiefs?

Kansas City will definitely be better when January comes around and this contest will serve as film they can learn from. And the betting markets certainly don't seem to be worried that this game was actually a plus for the Ravens. FanDuel Sportsbook has the Chiefs as the favorites to win Super Bowl LIX at +500, while the Ravens are tied for third at +1200.

Likely played well in this contest but his postgame comments clearly show frustration, which gives the Chiefs more bulletin board material if they do face off in the postseason.
