Few NFL fans outside of Denver thought the Broncos' first-round selection of QB Bo Nix was wise. In fact, the pick was universally laughed at across the NFL.

The hilarity continued into OTAs and now mandatory minicamp, with Jarrett Stidham shining and a recent report suggesting failed Jets' savior Zach Wilson may even be in the mix to start under center.

I don't think there's any truth to the suggestion that Wilson has a chance whatsoever, though it's still a hilarious report to consider given the optics around the Nix pick. We know the Chiefs own the Broncos but this is downright embarrassing.

Latest Zach Wilson Report Shows Broncos QB Room is a Mess

Fowler notes that the Broncos are trying to regain Wilson's confidence, saying, "he's in a positive state of mind" before wondering aloud if this is the first time Wilson's had that uplifted mindset after his troublesome years with the Jets.

For his career, Wilson has completed only 57% of his passes with 23 TDs to 25 interceptions. He's considered a bust at the No. 2 overall pick, hoping to revive his career under Sean Payton in Denver.

At the end of the clip, Fowler says Wilson is "in the mix" at QB, though I don't believe he's implying that Wilson is truly competing for the starting job. Nix will likely be under center in Week 1 but it's telling that he isn't yet the clear-cut starter.

The Broncos picked up a win over the Chiefs last year but I envision a new winning streak getting underway this year, especially if these QB reports prove to be accurate.
