During a first round that saw Michael Penix Jr. go to the Atlanta Falcons at No. 8 overall, somehow the Denver Broncos have the most embarrassing selection of the 2024 NFL Draft thus far.
Sean Payton elected to take Oregon QB Bo Nix at No. 12, ensuring that Kansas City will remain atop the AFC West for the next decade. Make no mistake, the Chiefs' rivals have absolutely no idea what they're doing.

I mean, you couldn't write a comedy this funny. The Chiefs should waltz to the playoffs without much competition barring injury. After five QBs went in the first 11 picks, the Broncos had an opportunity to add the first defensive player in the draft or take an impact playmaker.
Instead? They took a mediocre QB. Congratulations, Broncos fans!
Chiefs Kingdom can rejoice. No matter who Brett Veach chooses to draft, Kansas City has already won the first round. Years after Denver bungled their QB selection by taking Paxton Lynch, it seems the Broncos have made a mistake perhaps even more severe.
