Referee for Chiefs vs. Dolphins Wild Card Playoff Game Announced
By Joe Summers
The Chiefs are getting set for Tyreek Hill's return to Kansas City as the Miami Dolphins come to town for NFL Wild Card weekend.
Referee assignments were just released and Chiefs fans should be overjoyed, as we've avoided the dreaded Carl Cheffers assignment, who will work Bills vs. Steelers instead.
Given the wide shadow poor officiating cast over the entire 2023 season, Chiefs Kingdom just hopes we see a good whistle on Saturday night.
Chiefs vs. Dolphins Officiating Crew for Playoff Game
Brad Rogers will be the head referee for Chiefs vs. Dolphins, not to be confused with Brad Allen, the official who cost the Chiefs against the Packers and the Lions vs. Cowboys with egregious mistakes.
This is a good draw for Kansas City, as Rogers is one of the more respected referees in the NFL. He's been with the league for seven years, five as a referee, and this is his first playoff assignment as a lead official.
He's served as a field judge in the postseason before and has not called a Chiefs game yet this year.
Rogers was the official for Chiefs vs. Jaguars in November of 2022, though it's been a while since he's been on the field for a Kansas City matchup.
We'll see what happens on Saturday, though fingers crossed we don't have to talk about any bad calls after the game.
